Trafalgar Square Maze

August 3rd, 2010

The idea behind this fantastic temporary maze in Trafalgar Square is to encourage tourists and Londoners to explore the city’s West End and uncover its hidden treasures. As you get lost in the maze you come across street names and blue plaques with information relating to famous West End landmarks. The 30-metre by 20-metre maze is made from a mixture of laurel and thuja contained in box planters so it can be assembled and removed easily. So far, it’s proved extremely popular and has attracted a fair amount of press coverage – just what organisers the West End Partnership were hoping for. A great example of location-specific promotion and good fun too!
