It was great that the London Design Festival managed to procure the use of Trafalgar Square for the duration of design week to showcase this epic collaboration between Jaime Hayon and Spanish tile giant Bisazza. As with all of Jaime’s work the production quality was immense and the concept of including details from familiar London landmarks in the forms of the chess pieces worked well. Trafalgar Square is a monument to the tactical brilliance of Nelson’s victory in the battle of Trafalgar making it a pertinent setting for “the King’s Game.”
